Commission Now a Full Singatory to IOSCO MMOU
In its session, held on October 11, 2012, the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina gave its approval to Mr. Hasan Celam, its President, to sign the IOSCO Multilateral Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Consultation and Cooperation and the Exchange of Information.
Thus the Commission joined a family of 87 IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions) Members, full MMoU signatories, and is now able to make full use of this international benchmark for cross-border cooperation critical to combating violations of securities and derivatives laws.
The MMoU application of the Securities Commission of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was accepted during a meeting of the highest IOSCO decision-making body, following a demanding procedure that involved providing proof that the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina legislation and bylaws of the Commission itself satisfy the strict requirements of the global organization of securities market regulators, especially those related to the ability to provide requested information, and to protect the confidentiality of requests received. The fact that the Commission's application was approved is an illustration of the high standards to which securities regulation adheres in our jurisdiction.
